Applications

Built for medium-reach finishing, the YG1 83595TF solid carbide end mill measures 5/8″ in diameter with a 7/8″ length of cut. Its 3-flute design combined with a 50° helix angle and TiAlN Futura coating offers excellent chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces, which enhances surface finish and prolongs tool life. This balance of reach and rigidity supports precise contouring and slotting in steel and related materials. This tool is suitable for machining steel (ISO P), stainless steel (ISO M), cast iron (ISO K), and heat-resistant superalloys (ISO S), taking advantage of the coating’s heat resistance and the high helix angles chip control. Without a corner radius, edge chipping prevention relies on the coating and geometry, maintaining sharpness during finishing. Avoid non-ferrous materials (ISO N) as the TiAlN Futura coating is not a good match and will degrade quickly. The tool is not designed for roughing or interrupted cuts where a corner radius or more flutes might be necessary.
