Applications

The YG1 83573TE 1/4″ diameter, 1/2″ length of cut solid carbide end mill provides a rigid and precise solution for finishing operations that require tight tolerances. Its stub length enhances stability and minimizes deflection during machining. With a 50° helix angle, three flutes, and YG TiAlN Extreme coating, it offers smooth chip evacuation and excellent heat resistance, supporting consistent surface finishes in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and heat-resistant superalloys. This tools combination of geometry and coating reduces built-up edge and extends tool life under high-speed finishing conditions. Center-cutting capability allows plunge cutting, increasing versatility in complex milling tasks. The absence of a corner radius means edge chipping must be monitored during interrupted cuts, although the high helix angle helps mitigate this risk. Avoid using this end mill on non-ferrous materials, as the TiAlN Extreme coating is not well suited and degrades rapidly. Its design does not suit aluminum or other soft metals, where different coatings and helix angles offer better performance.
