Applications

Precision milling in short-reach operations is enabled by the YG1 33556TE 3/32″ diameter end mill featuring a 3/16″ length of cut and 4 flutes. The combination of a 30° helix angle and YG TiAlN Extreme coating provides strength and efficient chip evacuation, enhancing performance when working with free-machining steel and similar materials. This design supports stable cutting conditions and reduces tool wear during general milling. Ideal for steel and cast iron applications, this tool also performs adequately on stainless steel and heat-resistant superalloys thanks to its coating compatibility and geometry. The sharp cutting edges, due to the absence of a corner radius, require careful use to prevent chipping in interrupted cuts. Its double-ended design extends operational life by allowing both ends to be used. Avoid using this end mill on non-ferrous materials, since the TiAlN Extreme coating is not ideal and will deteriorate quickly. Its geometry and coating are also unsuited for soft metals or plastics, where chip control issues and premature tool failure may arise.
