Applications

With a diameter of 5/8″ and a 3/4″ length of cut, the YG1 85595TE solid carbide finishing end mill combines a stub length and 1.2 length-to-diameter ratio to ensure rigidity and precision during finishing operations. Its 45° helix angle, five-flute design, and TiAlN Extreme coating work together to enhance chip evacuation and heat resistance, improving surface finish and tool life in steel and similar materials. This tool is particularly suited for finishing low carbon steels such as 1018/A36, making use of its higher flute count and variable pitch for optimal finish quality. However, it is not intended for use on Non-Ferrous (ISO N) materials because the TiAlN Extreme coating degrades rapidly on such substrates. The end mills geometry and coating are not appropriate for machining softer metals or plastics and may lead to premature wear or failure if used improperly.
